So, I'm really sorry I couldn't get this up before you actually played FFXII. But I love the battle mechanics of this game, and I wanted to share with you some of the things I found while playing the game. Here are some points that are nice to know, especially if you're in to min-max'ing: - Weapons deal damage based on different stats. Where two are listed, the second gets less important in higher levels. - - Unarmed is all STR (doubly so with the Brawler license) - - Swords, poles, spears, crossbows and rods are also all STR - - Maces are all MAG - - Katanas and Staves are STR and MAG based - - Axes, hammers and handbombs are STR and VIT - - Daggers, ninja swords and bows are STR and SPD - - Guns and measures are not based on any stats - Weather, especially rain and sandstorm, affects battle. The most vulnerable weapons are bows, that become severely less accurate during these weathers. Also, thunder is more efficient during rains, and I think fire is less. I recently discovered the same thing in this game, especially with the katanas. I see why Kaleb uses Penelo with them. I use Vaan with certain equipment set ups. One tactic I've been exploiting a lot lately is healing the undead. In deepest depths of the Henne Mines, aka hell, 3 shots of Curaja to the level 60 something Abysteels work amazing! Or I use two shots of it, cast haste on Basch with the Excalibur, it works great!
