Assuming you either started listening to the podcast very early on, or the alternative being you picked it up later but listened in chronological order, which game or even episode were you most excited or interested to listen to? And why? I picked up listening around FFV and I'm not sure I ever went back and listened to the episodes before that. Can't remember for sure. However the one I looked forward to the most was probably FFVIII. Joe was especially nostalgic of that game before they got to it in the podcast, and I personally enjoy the story immensely but acknowledge the gameplay flaws. So I really wanted to hear what their take and especially Joe's take on it was after they played it again.
I guess as a corollary to this, I was probably the least excited for 12, just because I'm extremely lukewarm about that game and didn't thoroughly enjoy any aspects of it.

FF7 without a doubt, because it was my first ff game and the one i am most nostalgic about.
Second most anticipated would have to be 10.

The FFVI review stood out to me because it was a game I loved as a kid. Not too many people still appreciate that game, mostly the younger generation. The guys did an outstanding job of covering it. I really liked the FFXII review but that was the first that I followed them all the way through with. I learned a lot from Kaleb's play through. But, I'm loving XIII so far because I'm very familiar with it and I can help and watch someone's first time through the game.

I was personally most excited for 12 because it has mixed reviews among fans despite being highly rated critically. I also really liked the game so I was more interested on their take on it. And if I remember correct Joe had a semi negative feeling about the game going into it and I was intrigued to see if and how his view was swayed this time around. But I'm currently very hyped for their 13 review because it is an even more polarizing game than 12. Personally I didn't like 13 and it ranks very low on my list (trying to go through a second play through sometime soon though with an open mind)so I'm interested on seeing how their opinion compares to mine and other peoples

Unfortunately I couldn't finish it. I enjoyed the combat okay but man that story and the characters made me cringe. @judge gabranth yeah I randomly looked at their twitch episodes yesterday and think I saw that you were watching that. Looked frustrating to me haha. Good to see some replies here though. Haven't been on the forum much lately but it looked like activity had died down quite a bit

FF1, FF3, FF5 and FF9.
Couldn't wait to hear their experiences when playing those.
Wished they talked more about the dungeons and bosses in FF1 and FF3 though... but they were still hitting their stride so they did good.
FF5 review was the best for me.
FF9 I was looking forward to it but I was disappointed since they seemed to have felt the need to rush through the game and the actual review episode felt very "planned" like they just read stuff from a script or a wiki for the most part.

Personally I haven't listened to them all but I do like going back and listening to the 11 episode. 1 because I am on it. < sorry for ego check ? the other is the vast amount of opinions in the game itself. Have the two guys give their opinions about the game is great and like hearing them I just want a tiny bit more variety in the opinions . I know joe and Caleb from time to time give almost the same opinion, so the variety is nessecary. I guess I will also look forward to the 14 episode to get more opinions again. Also a 4 parter is fun. I love getting invested in long things. Heheh like ff for instance or trilogies in book series or a series on TV. Go binge watchers . Lol

I remember making a post about the FF9 review addressing those issues. Since I haven't played the other 3 you listed I can't comment much on that but the 5 review was interesting considering I hadn't actually played the game.

I will say to shinru's comment that the playthrough of ff9 was a difficult one, and with all the other stuff happening around that time in our personal lives the game was rushed, yes. But we did the review as we did the others. One of us writes up a "making of" and then outlines the story in Bullet points--or in the case of 10 and 12 have the official guide out to jog our memory--and then we wing the episode. 9's review was also made worse by technical difficulties and a late start time. I think the episodes are fine, although remembering the story beat by beat was difficult for that one.

I'd have to go with VIII and IX. They are both controversial fan favorites/fan hates. IX is also the one I've played through the most, and VIII was the first FF I ever played through to completion. I got into the podcast kind of late (The series on XI was being released) and VIII was the first one I went back and listened to. Kaleb Craig talking about renaming Angelo, to this day, makes me laugh uncontrollably. Gotta do that the next time I do a play through.

One of the last couple episodes I think you guys talked about why you grazed over some stuff and it's not really a big deal. The quality of the episodes were great like usual, and in your defense to remembering the story, well on most of these other games you guys rehash it better than I can remember it anyway (especially XII) so some of them are bound to stick better than others. I think the real challenge will be making sense of 13's story when you review that
