First, for all 3 beasts, this is the spam death tactic many people, including myself, are a big fan of. You must use Vanille and access her death ability prior to going back to cocoon. This will allow you to upgrade and attain the items needed to make the ultimate weapons. My suggested party is Vanille as party leader with the belladonna rod or its upgraded version, with Hope with sprint shoes, and Fang. I only use two paradigms for this: start in espionage and then switch to assassination. In the beginning of battle against the adaman monsters allow Hope to cast haste on Vanille before she brings her summon out. Cast deprotect, deshell, and imperil. Then cast death just once. Hit the square button and go into gestalt mode. Use the summons best skill immediately. Now with the full party continue to spam death with Vanille until Hope hast put haste on everyone. Switch to assassination and spam death till it goes down. If it doesn't just retry. Once your characters are strong enough to defeat the adaman beasts without death, this is the other way I do it. I use Lightning, Vanille, Fang with Light as leader. The required paradigms are relentless assault, espionage, ruthless, and Tri-Disaster. Start in espionage and have Light cast haste, bravery, and faith on her self after she summons Odin. Build the gestalt bar up with Odin and then switch to gestalt mode and have Odin do his best to stagger. Once Odin leaves cast the same as you did on Light on Vanille and Fang while they lay down debuffs. Now switch to tri disaster and stagger it again. Then switch to relentless and finish him. To do it faster use Lights army of one ability. Only switch to Ruthless if the debuffs wear off.
With NeoChu I use a similar formula. Use Vanille, Hope, and Fang. Start in Protection MED SYN SEN and just make sure Hope gets haste on Vanille.Switch to SAB MED SEN and have Vanille cast imperil. After that spam death until it goes down. Keep Combat Clinic, Delta Attack, and Relentless handy to finish the picochus. Winning this battle gets you the growth egg doubling your CP. I always get this before I go back to cocoon. Hope this helps people

Endgame is scary glad I grinded in the final area you can't return to in FFXIII with those 3 enemies which gives the largest amount of CP in the game for a while so when I beat it and went back to Gran Pulse I had a lot of CP to use and level up almost to max. Then I basically had to just grind using Death on the enemies to get the rare drops which have like a 5% rate of receiving them or something lol.

With two connesiuer catalogs and one collectors catalog I pick up either a platinum ignot or a trapazeherdran almost 30 percent of the time. When I get to Bathandulus in Oerba I make sure the characters 3 main roles are maxed out and that I have around 500k cp in stock for the next upgrade. I make sure Vanille learns death with that. I don't leave for cocoon just yet and turn around and start the neochu mark which is on Oerba. After you beat NeoChu, start grinding the adamantoise for the rare items plus 80k in cp per battle with the growth egg attached that you get from neochu.

A strat I used for Neochu when I did No Crystarium Challenge back in the day: Lightning: COM HP 300 STR 741 Magic 1041 Omega Weapon (Hauteclaire)*, Magistral Crest* Fang: COM HP 750 STR 113 Magic 78 Taming Pole Lv.1, Speed Sash Lv.1 Snow: SEN HP 3760 STR 80 Magic 40 Unsetting Sun Lv.1, Wurtzite Bangle* Have Two of this same Paradigm set-up, so you can more efficiently take advantage of ATB refresh should you need to take time to revive Snow. Some RNG here when it comes to whether or not Neochu KO's Lightning instantly or not. Ruin is good here, and keeping Snow alive is priority. Hopefully Fang gets Instant Chain, so Light can do damage. Summon Odin to evade Screech, stagger him, get him down to about 25% HP and he should die from a zantetsuken. Doesn't take long, battle usually lasts no more than 2-3 minutes. He's such a wimp. I should really revisit my NCU file, I've still never finished it. Only 2 marks that I literally cannot beat

That's an interesting set up I'll have to try. I do use the Taming Pole but not the Hauteclaire, I only like one person with stagger lock because you don't want to depend on one person achieving the stagger. But I'm guessing you're going for the quick stagger. How early did you take him on? I take him on before going to cocoon and way before completing the game the first time so I didn't have the Magical Crest or the Wurtzite Bangle because don't they require dark matter for upgrading? For instance Weirding Glyph* + dark matter= Magical Crest. Or maybe not dark matter but adamantite? I forget but anyway I didn't have my accessories at that level yet.
Which marks are you having a problem with? I'm surprised to be honest after watching your Aeronite video. I have 5 starred them all in 13 but I think Aeronite on hard mode is a more impressive accomplishment.

I do it after I beat the game. To get Wurzite Bangles Lv32 beforehand though, you should already have Adamant Bangles, you just need to grind Long Gui for DMs haha.
But the mark I'm having the most trouble with right now is Attacus lmao. He's the only I can't beat, nobody has been able to (it's been almost 6 years now...) The timer is really difficult to work around. But since I can't beat Attacus, I can't take on Vercingetorix either. Those are the only marks I haven't done yet. In a normal playthrough, I beat the marks just fine, I don't struggle with that. I'm doing a No Crystarium Usage run, that's why it's so difficult haha
I'm sure somebody'll figure it out though (someone figured out how to beat Dark Anima in FFX without the Sphere Grid after all), but maybe it'll be me, who knows.

In the play through I'm doing following the guys, which I just finished, I beat Attacus yesterday and Vercingetorix today. For Attacus you need Delta Attack, Mystic Tower, Relentless Assault, Combat Clinic, Diversity, Premeditation and always switch to a sentinel paradigm before he unsheathes the sword. It's just a long battle. With Vercingetorix it's Relentless Assault, Diversity, Infiltration, Rapid Growth, Salvation, and Tortoise. Make sure all of your characters stats are maxed, have damage reducing accessories on, high level ultimate weapons (mine were maxed), and switch to all tortoise before the big whirl move. Use the two shrouds prior to the battle and start in infiltration and switch to either relentless or diversity if he's done any serious damage yet. He'll cast spells on offense that do descent damage and knock down your buffs, so when he goes into hibernation rebuff up, heal, and try to switch back to infiltration when he comes out of his shell. Just keep repeating that and monitoring health and he goes down. It just gets sped up faster as you do more damage. I used Lightning, Fang, and Vanille although the book suggests Hope instead of Vanille. Vanille is the better healer and I've got her weapon maxed out with a maxed weirding glyf, she's hitting hard.

I mean yeah, I'm familiar with the usual strats and I've beaten him and vercingetorix several times in normal playthroughs haha. It's beating Attacus without Crystarium which is what I can't do, though I've done a great deal of heavily math based theory-crafting and experimenting on him In NCU run, I use: - Light/Hope/Fang or Snow/Hope/Fang - COM/RAV/SEN SEN/RAV/SAB - 5 Elixirs - Luck (lots of it) The goal is to maintain offense for chain boosting. Best weapons here are: - T3 Gladius, T3 Axis Blade, Hauteclaire (Light) - T3 Dragoon Lance (Fang) DPS is super important here. Vanille isn't viable for NCU Attacus because of Deshell and lack of physical damage. Hope's Protect/Cure makes him much more useful, not to mention his 2 RAV spells for chaining. 20 minute timer before Doom is what makes this so difficult. The target chain you want to be at within 10 mins of the battle is about ~605% - 855% which is pretty high and difficult given that Attacus has a 100% chain resist stat. asfrevevgewg typing all this up is triggering my PTSD about this guy

Oh wow you're really challenging yourself with that. It'll be a lengthy battle against Attacus at low levels. You'll just have to out last him.

Yeah, been 3 years of me not beating him NCU so far, always get close sometimes, but Doom counter makes this wayyyyy more difficult than it needs to be. If he didn't have Doom, I'd have beaten him years ago haha
