I have heard mixed reviews of Until Dawn. I am going to give it a go eventually. I really was holding out for Kholat because it is about the scariest real life incident I've ever heard about. It didn't get great reviews but it looked awesome. If you've never heard of the Dyatlov Pass incident, check it out. There is a movie about it (found footage, so it might be up your alley) that is pretty creepy. Pretty sure I saw the game Kholat on steam recently and looked up what it was about and that's how I found out about the Dyatlov pass incident.. Definitely interesting! Didn't know there was a movie about it though..Thanks!

I have heard mixed reviews of Until Dawn. I am going to give it a go eventually. The downsides that I would give the game are that sometimes the camera can be more cinematic than helpful. The shot can be beautiful, but not very helpful for navigating where you are going. Another downside is that the game uses several jump scares early on, and towards the middle of the game, they could be more tiring than scary. Thankfully, that's about the point when the game stops using cat scares and starts in with the real scares.

Oh yeah, for those of you with a PS4, there is a game called Outlast. Woah... I've played a lot of horror games and I watch horror movies to fall asleep to often, but Outlast really gives that sense of dread. It is a relatively cheap indie game, but also REALLY scary.

I absolutely love survival horror games. I have to second the Fatal Frame and Silent Hill recs already. Another good one is a PC Pixel horror game called im.scared. I never thought straight up pixels could be creepy like they were. The Evil Within is pretty good. Clock Tower series is really good, Highly Recommend.

Clock Tower series is really good and so are the spinoffs in the series like Haunting Ground. Also Rule of Rose on PS2 is also quite good. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_Rose

I play Resident Evil Outbreak every Halloween. It's become a tradition of mine. Those loading times though.... I wanted to do that with Red Dead's zombie game, but I could never get past the beginning. I did not like the scarcity of resources. It was probably too soon after playing the main game Semi-related. I do watch the Cowboy Bebop movie every Halloween and one Tree House of Terror everyday leading up to Halloween.
