Mentioned this in my review but do you think FFX has the worst minigames out of all the main series FF games?
I"d rather play any minigame from FF1-9 before playing the broken mess of FFX minigames. Those Golden Saucer FF7 minigames seem so appealing after playing FFX's minigames like Lightning Dodging and Chocobo Race.

I loved blitzball so I couldn't say FFX for sure. It definitely had some bad ones to be sure and most of them had nothing to do with the sigil you were trying to get. Okay yes you're right they're pretty bad I guess, but I still think blitzball is redeeming enough that I don't mind.

I think a mini game should be there to add to the experience of the game by giving the player a break in all the monotony. The mini games in FF10 feel like chores to me.

As soon as a mini-game becomes required for the story, it stops being a side quest. That is not to say that it stops being fun, but it isn't as fun as it would be if it wasn't required sometimes.

I've complained about it enough in other posts so I'll just say.
Chocobo Racing. (Drop the mic)

Dear lord i hated both of these, never managed to do them i decided wasn't work my trouble as i could already beat the strongest enemies without them. Spent 2 week on Chocobo racing and about 1 week on lightning and i got close on both may have won with more time but i decided i liked my sanity more then i liked saying i had all the ultimate weapons. This challenge is so fucked up it was the one point in the game i was tempted to use a codebreaker or gameshark. Minigames should be above all else fun and most of the FF10 minigames were tedious. Though i did like blitz ball found it creative and addictive once i got the hang of it :-) FF7 I think had the best really liked the goldensaucer as well as the fort condor minigame.

While I liked the mini games in FF7, there were almost too many. They did a good job of spacing them out, but when you think back there were quite a few. I still think they were the best in the series though.

The only problem i could see is if you were forced to play them repeatedly or forced you to win them to progress, FF7 you played most of them once and win or lose didn't really matter as all you would really lose is an item(usually nothing important) or something like that and most were fairly easy anyway. Now FF10 on the other hand if you didn't do them you lost out on Ultimate Weapons and that i do dislike, basically forcing you to do something you don't want if you want the best gear :-(

You have to admit that the snowboarding game seemed really out of place.

There is a mini game in FFXI. It's called "run" and all you do is run across gigantic maps like four times in a row. Sometimes this mini game takes like two hours to get from one point to another because of the sheer size of the map. . .

Yeah but the timer is actually subjective because it is called "patience"
For the benefit of the forum I'm being extremely sarcastic. FFXI is decent but there is WAY too much time spent walking across zones for missions.

You have to admit that the snowboarding game seemed really out of place. Yes it did fell kinda out of place i agree but win or lose you didn't have to be successful at it to get through it, could have blindfolded yourself and still got through it and never have to play it again. I more then anything appreciate that they tried something new but didn't make you do it multiple times If you didn't like it you never had to play again and if you did like it you could :-) Know if they had tied your ability at those kinda games to getting something like a Final Weapon or a Character or a Boss then it gets me irritated. Either way i defentlly get where you are coming from but after seeing a few later games minigames, I can't help but love 7's in comparison.
