I hope I'm not the only one here, but I am wondering if anyone else on the forum has ever been in a band... Or perhaps you are currently in a band? I'm gonna go out on a limb and put out my old portfolio on here, which has some of my high school band's old terrible songs on it. www.josephdegolyer.com/?page_id=143Basically, I show you mine and you show me yours.

Wow. Your name has its own domain. You so fancy. Nope, never been in a band-at least the type you're talking about. I was in marching band! Brass ftw.

My brother is in a band called Game Genie. They mix classic video game music into modern instruments. I am pretty far away and haven't heard them live, but it is pretty cool stuff. Game Genie on Facebook

He has been playing guitar for almost twenty years. Maybe more. It's essentially his life. I've mentioned that I would love to hear some FF. I'll put the older bro pressure on.

I was in a band, but we did not play anything. We all just formed one and started to learn after we assigned instruments. It did not work for us, but apparently it did for The Offspring.

There's a semi-mentally retarded guy that grew up around my town that is an amazing drummer that I used to have come over to my house. His last name is "Huntoon" and he used to come over and I would drink a bunch of budweisers and play guitar, and he would play the drums on anything that was around the house, mostly the wood stove. I named us the "HunTUNES" and we would fuck around a bunch. Good times, but not a real band

I got pretty good at guitar pretty fast watching some of my buddies play and then learning from them, but after graduating high school 13 years ago I don't really have anyone to learn from anymore. I will say that if you haven't played "Rocksmith" on the PS3 and you like guitar/bass you are missing out. It is like guitar hero except you plug in a real guitar and it teaches you hundreds of songs, it is super accurate and teaches you each song note by note. I was learning "Round and Round" by Ratt and it starts you off with just a few key notes, then after you play it right enough times it adds more parts of the chords. If you end up playing all of the chords or riffs correctly, the on screen prompts start fading away and before you know it you are playing the song by yourself. You can slow down the song until you get it right if you want, and then the game will level up your skill by adding more difficult techniques or chords. It even has a complete breakdown of the guitar solos. The best part about this game is that there is something for everyone, and a beginner can pick it up and learn, or someone as advanced as Joe can find some real challenging songs to learn. I'm not the best guitar player, but this game has started teaching me "Free Bird" note for note, and has something for everyone. There is anything ranging from Bob Dylan to Avenged Sevenfold. If you love guitar, pick this game up and I promise you won't regret it!

Oh! Battman's post reminded me that I was pretty good at Rock Band- does that count? Decent at the guitar, would only sing if I had a few drinks...but I could kill the drums. So every time Rock Band would be busted out at a party, I was always stuck on drums because most people wanted to play guitars. I'm still irked at this years later.

So many fun times of people singing chorus during Rock Band. I can't wait for my daughter to get a little bit older so that we can jam to the whatever the latest version of that game is.

I invested way too much money into Rock Band buying expansions and songs. I used to do guitar and mic at the same time. Probably can't do that anymore, but we'll see when Rock Band 4 comes out.

Are some older versions still supported in the play station store? I was surprised to find almost everything gone from the store for Guitar Hero.

I don't know. I never really got into Guitar Hero. I only had the Metallica one. I was more into Rock Band because I could custom make my own band. Women lead singers FTW.
