Myanimelist.net/animelist/KalebFCraig. Maybe you can suggest some to me or help me recall ones I forgot. So what have you seen?

Id have to take a look but some off the top of my head.
Record of lodoss wars. Best rpgish fantasy anime. Its really awesome and screams fantasy with all the characters. Young warrior teaming up with priest, mage, ranger, old warrior, thief to save their world from war and evil gods. Great stuff.
Saiyuki Noir Neon genesis
Ill need to look. Alot of mine are one shot anime movies mainly.

I've seen Neon Genesis Evangellion. Like this show very much, even when it gets really weird. Saw an television show called Bakuman for a Japanese class that wasn't too bad. First season only. all of the films of Hayao Miyazaki; and they went from really good to masterpiece, no bad films from him. Akira's a great, great film from the mid-80's, Steamboy not so much. Summer Wars was pretty entertaining, although not as good on a re-watch. I didn't like Millenium Actress, or paprika, but I did enjoy Perfect Blue. Awesome film. Grave of the fireflies and Tale of Princess Kaguya are beautiful films from Isao Takahata. I've seen Pom Poko and Tales from Earthsea, and don't care for them. The FF7 movies and I guess Spirits Within, but I'm not sure if that goes under the umbrella of "Anime"...
I can't think of anything else I've seen all the way...
A couple things about me that I need to state if I go off on a rant about anime again: I hate... HATE dubbing. It'll ruin a good movie. I prefer movies to TV shows in general, and I know most "anime" is in that format, so whatever good shows are out there I'm probably not gonna watch. I try not to separate what is "anime", and what is animation. They don't make that distinction in Japan, I'm trying not to make it here.
I had a few Japanese class mates and they seemed to be really weirded out by adults watching anime. My friend Yoshiya kinda freaked out on me when he saw Neon Genesis in my DVD's... He still calls me "Otaku". However, it was cool for (another student) Naomi to be into Pixar stuff like crazy, so maybe there's a hypocrisy going on...

IMDB classifies Cinderella, dragon ball and Toy Story all under animation. anime is a style or subgenre of animation. simple as that. good movies and lol you always bring out the animation thing even on the podcast. Some dubs can be very good some suck but some have very good voice actors doing the dub. lol yeah there is an "otaku" stigma for some people its weird but then again was Robin Williams an otaku because he loved Neon Genesis Evangelion? I doubt it. I guess celebrities are safe. Also I know families in Japan that will watch Doraemon religiously as a family every day so I guess it differs.

Yeah joe loves bringing that up. I personally like dubbing especially for shows. I just don't like that they have some girl voice a dude who is like 40. I don't mind movies dubbed but usually they are better subbed.

^^^ You should introduce Joe to Death Note, Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell since he has already watched Neon Genesis Evangelion. Most consider those to be the best of the best anime. If he liked Bakuman then Death Note was made by the same people.
