I used to wake up on Saturday morning as a teen and watch the top 20 music videos of the week. I don't know exactly when mtv made the switch. I'd wager it started with shows like the real world. Why would you wake up early on Saturday morning when you could stay up late on Saturday night to watch Headbangers' Ball :-P

I've been really digging big, epic pieces lately. Lots of Ennio Morricone and Metallica. Good stuff...

I've been really digging big, epic pieces lately. Lots of Ennio Morricone and Metallica. Good stuff... If you get the time, there's a band called Apocalyptica- they're a Finnish metal band with classically trained cellists. They have some awesome songs with guest vocalists- Corey Taylor, Adam Gontier, Brent Smith, Till Lindemann, etc. That's amazing in and of itself. But if you're a huge Metallica fan, they have an entire album of instrumental Metallica covers arranged and played on cellos. It's absolutely stunning. The Unforgiven is particularly good.

I know of Apocalyptica... they're great! I haven't listened to them in a while though, so thanks for the reminder.

Ennio Morricone is a genius. I know... I really need to watch The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly again. Also The Thing and The Untouchables. His music for the Lolita remake is also really good and very underrated. He has worked on so many movies its insane. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_compositions_by_Ennio_Morricone

East coast ftw. OOo Baltimore, I haven't been there yet. I also had the chance to move out west, to California- I've been to Colorado, California, and parts of Nevada, but I definitely prefer this coast as well. I think EyesonMe or GantyRose are also on this coast, in Ohio. Totally off topic- have things calmed down a bit in Baltimore? Yup, Ohio girl here. as for music tastes I'm all over the place. I love a little bit of everything. Super huge fan of Coheed and Cambria though. The Misfits and The Brains are sweet too! And Combichrist. Went to a VIP combichrist show. It was amazing

Dio FTW.
Did anyone play Brutal Legend. That soundtrack was epic in its variety and sheer awesomeness.

Even though I'm only 22 years old I'm more of an old school type of guy. Not much current music interests me that much other than a few bands. But I'm not picky and if I'm in the right mood i can enjoy anything from classical to Metal lol some of my favorites: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Phish
