I just hope lots of fans will be ok with changes. The original FF7 is going to be on PS4 with no changes. So we will always have that version. Its obvious the remake is going to change some stuff but I think that is ok since its essentially a remake and they are going to try and change or improve some things which is to be expected.

Totally agree. People are way too concerned with the developers changing things. If people want let's say the battle system of the original than they can play the original. Even if the new system is sub-par we always have the original to fall back to

Lmao at half you people in this thread now jumping on the hype train of FF7. I recall many of you saying (including the Joe and Kallab) that FF7 remake wouldn't happen, you didn't want it to happen and it shouldn't happen.
You were the people opposing those of us who signed petitions, joined remake groups and asked continuously for this to happen. But w.e, I'm sure your going to pretend you've been hyped from the start and tell everyone you've wanted this for 1,000,000 years.

But seriously though there's no reason to fault anybody for getting excited about a game. This isn't some hipster thing where it's only okay if you wanted it before it became popular.

I was there hoping the FF7 remake for ps3 tech demo was real.

So far I can gestimate. That they are expanding the size of 7 and adding more detail to all figures as well as expanding known areas to reduce load time and give more detail to known dungeons. All characters will have voice actors. Side stories will most likely become more in depth such as yuffie and Vincent. As well as the chocobo raising sidequest and racing. These are a total gestimate but its the most likely product in the future. I surmise a 50-60 hour increase in game time compared to previous version.

I don't know if bitching about Nomura is getting on the hype train... Kind of think we should have a third grade reading comprehension test that takes place before someone posts...

Yeah for the record I still don't want it but I accept that its happening. Also I can tell you Joe's exact reaction was "eh." I can tell you I never expected them to actually do this, and I can assure you it's because of money and not because you signed a piece of paper.

Wait you mean I shouldn't be thanking that guy for signing it? Well darn it. I just mailed my thank you card. Try to use a bit of simple comprehension... The reason the game is back IS because of the sheer volume of people who asked for the remake and wanted it to happen (and yes of course the money), however you can try and be condescending and patronzing by using the one example I gave of petitions being simply one of the many many ways the demand was made clear to SE. Yeah, nice one mate... -_- They would not have done this remake and taken on a challenge of this size if the demand wasn't so glaringly huge in their face and they knew it was gonna make them a train of money but many of the people here acting all hyped were opposing the remake. You were the guys arguing against the remake, you were the one shouting down the people asking for it, trying to convince them it would never happen or didn't need to happen. Basically I've spent the best part of ten years trying to encourage the remake to happen and its been infuriating as fuk all the dumb arguments I've had to endure along the way with people who opposed it, now many of those exact same people! (not just on this site mind you) are the ones acting all excited and thrilled and to be honest it pisses me off and I am simply venting my frustration here. All of a sudden all those people who had such clever, witty and smart things to say on why FF7 shouldn't be remade have all dissapeared. Funny that...

I'm still arguing against a remake. If you really loved the game that much, you wouldn't want to change it...

I'm still arguing against a remake. If you really loved the game that much, you wouldn't want to change it... Except that's not true in the slightest. How on earth have you come to that completely illogical conclusion? Just because people loved it doesn't mean it wouldn't be even better to see it in amazing advent children graphics, better quality soundtracks and more evolved fleshed out story/backstories as Nomura states he want to do. Anyone who tries to claim that they wouldn't enjoy seeing and playing FF7 with AC quality visuals over the original is completely deluding themselves... Even if they completely balls it up, I don't see how you could be scared that it would 'ruin' the game for you. If you don't like what they do with it, then simply disregard it. It ain't like you will lose the fond memories you had off the original FF7.

Another thing that a lot of people haven't been talking about is the possibility of a FF7 sequel. With the release of the remake it will get the series fresh in the minds of gamers, as well as introduce it to a whole new generation of younger gamers. Therefore, with the inevitable success that the remake will have, isn't it also inevitable that Square makes a direct sequel to it? Would you guys like to see that?
