Another thing that a lot of people haven't been talking about is the possibility of a FF7 sequel. With the release of the remake it will get the series fresh in the minds of gamers, as well as introduce it to a whole new generation of younger gamers. Therefore, with the inevitable success that the remake will have, isn't it also inevitable that Square makes a direct sequel to it? Would you guys like to see that? I think it depends on how I like the remake. And they'd probably need to retcon out advent children. But that wouldn't happen because the trailer shows parts of Edge from the movie. Ha it's really way way too early to tell. Personally i I say get xv done and start on xvi and ignore sequels for now. I just want to get a finished game that doesn't have lightning in it |

The game was good, don't fix what isn't broken, better graphics does not mean a better experience, square should work on making xv.

I'm still arguing against a remake. If you really loved the game that much, you wouldn't want to change it... Except that's not true in the slightest. How on earth have you come to that completely illogical conclusion? Just because people loved it doesn't mean it wouldn't be even better to see it in amazing advent children graphics, better quality soundtracks and more evolved fleshed out story/backstories as Nomura states he want to do. Anyone who tries to claim that they wouldn't enjoy seeing and playing FF7 with AC quality visuals over the original is completely deluding themselves... Even if they completely balls it up, I don't see how you could be scared that it would 'ruin' the game for you. If you don't like what they do with it, then simply disregard it. It ain't like you will lose the fond memories you had off the original FF7. So, are we "Jumping on the Hype Train" or are we "lying to ourselves about not wanting the remake"? It can't be both. |

I'm fine with a remake because the original will always exist and nothing will change that. FF7 is the only main FF game that has the baddest looking graphics and could use an update. FF1-6 had 8-16 bit sprites and FF8-15 still look very good. FF7 is the only one that doesn't look really good.
FF3 and FF4 on DS were remakes.
FF1 and FF2 on PSP were remakes.
FF4 on PSP was arguably a remake because it changed dialogue and situations, added more contents, redid all the artwork and sprites, changed the music and tweaked gameplay stats and mechanics.
FFX HD though was not a remake and just an HD port of the PS2 game.
I'm fine with the FF series getting remade for the new generation of gamers and for fans that want to see their favorite characters in HD on current gen systems.
Come on don't tell me you wouldn't buy FFV or FFVI remake for PS4. I would play those games forever lol.
Also Dirge of Cerberus ends on a cliffhanger and it needs to finish the story so I hope that FF7 remake does really well and we see FFVII-2 that concludes the story.

I assume they will rehire Uematsu like they did with XIV and have him redo his songs in maybe orchestral arrangements. Maybe with the option to switch between original FF7 and orchestra new FF7 Remake music.
